What I didn’t like: I really felt like Amanda Lester and the Orange Crystal Crisis was long in places. The overall plot is great but I really think that the underlying lessons in Amanda Lester and the Orange Crystal Crisis will benefit many middle-graders in the years to come. It’s great how they work together and overcome their differences in order to make the best decisions and solve the mysteries. It’s a tremendously fun adventure that Amanda and all of her friends join in on. What I liked: Amanda Lester and the Orange Crystal Crisis is a twisting maze of mystery written to entice even the most reluctant of readers. Hott Review of Amanda Lester and the Pink Sugar Conspiracy: Can Amanda and her friends figure out what’s going on and stop it before the school is destroyed – or worse! There’s a missing student, the teachers are edgy and arguing, and to top it off the Moriarty matriarch appears to be getting her escape opportunity. Hopefully, she can get through this term without trusting another classmate out to hurt her. The student, Scapulus Holmes, appears to be just as arrogant and self-involved as Amanda expected. It’s only minutes into a new semester when Amanda Lester and her friends at Legatum Continuatum, the secret school for the descendants of famous Detective’s, are introduced to a new student and a new mystery.
